As you may be aware of, Facebook is one of the most popular website focusing on social networking. It serves as one of the avenues that online marketing people make use of to produce their leads. Facebook serves as a tool that you can make use of to connect to various hierarchies in the online society. The tool provides you with different features like the Facebook Wall to express yourself. You can upload your image and keep in touch with other through Pokes. Through networking, Facebook marketing allows the online marketers to find interesting leads.

Facebook is one of the websites having a lot of traffic into it. You should be prepared to manage the traffic that you obtain through Facebook marketing. Facebook is a very powerful tool in internet marketing. Here are some tips for effective Facebook marketing.

You will need to create a profile for yourself, to be able to begin a Facebook social network. Similarly, you will be able to add only people who have a profile in it. Others may not be able to add you if you do not hold a profile. Similarly, your profile should be a complete one, to be able to attract others’ interest. Also, do not use nick names or company name; try and give your own name in your profile.

Next, you can try and host an event. Then, you can post it up in news feeds of the site. If the news you have posted is of interest to others, you will start gaining interest of others in your network. Further, you will be able to boost your service or your product. You may even gain new visitors if people in your network recommend you to others.

You can now try to let others know of your lifestyle, like what you do and how you operate. Further, you will definitely need to invite your friends into your network, as this will help you to promote your business through them.

You can post articles that focus on news in your Facebook site. For instance, if you are trying to market a product or a service, you can post the latest news regarding it in your site. But, the article you post should be strong in knowledge and information. If your article is knowledgeable, it is sure to attract a good amount of targeted traffic into your site. People who visit your site in this way will be interested in your products and services also.

Further, you can identify others who deal with almost same business as yours, and you can post comments on their area of the network. This will certainly help you to build stronger rapport in your network, and the number of your visitors will increase tremendously.

The most popular way to conduct ad campaigns online is with the pay per click. The rise of online social networking has brought a myriad of methods for promoting your business while being more personal than just an ad on a search engine website. When done correctly, online social networking can promote your business very quickly through positive online reviews, which are even better than word of mouth since they reach a much wider audience. You can also set up profiles on some of the sites to attract more business. The most prominent of such sites are Facbook Ads, MyAds, and Sponsored Diggs.

You can both market on Facebook and have a permanent page for users to visit to see what others have to say about your product or service. As the most popular and most frequently visited social network, Facebook presents the marketing community with an unrivaled media for reaching people all over the world. Facebook Ads uses this large pool of participates to advertise using pay per click. Marketers can determine which users they want to target, by age, gender, hobbies, or anything aspects that users add to their profiles. By directing your ads to a specific interest group, you should have a better return on your marketing dollar. Facebook Ads is both ease to use and inexpensive.

MySpace is creating a site of their own for pay-per-click ads called MyAds. Currently it is being beta tested, but cost will be based on the number of clicks and per 1,000 impressions models. MyAds has many of the same advantages as Facebook Ads when it comes to targeting specific demographics. As older generations turn to Facebook, MySpace is becoming more popular with the younger generation, ages 18 to 24. This is certainly an important determining factor when deciding which site is right for your business.

The final site to consider is Sponsored Diggs, a bookmarking site for the latest in news, gaming, entertainment, and other social topics. Digg is branching out to include marketing on the site, with advertisement linked to specified Digg articles. The obvious advantage is that you can match your business with current news and people specifically interested in the same subject. However, Digg does allow readers to hide ads they do not want to see, so the time you spend getting your ad posted may not reach your intended audience.

The most important part of internet marketing are good ideas. You have to be creative when you’re building new website, creating new ads, writting new content for your websites… And there is always this idea problem. I decided to help you a little bit with idea part of your business and this list of 7 ways how to get ideas came out.

1. Social networking websites
Check Digg.com, Twitter and other social networking websites every day. People link to interesting articles and websites and you may get the idea for your own piece of content. If you don’t get any good idea, you can just write review of interesting website and your site is updated.

2. Talk to other people
Go out and talk to people. They may told you about thier problem and you can find solution for it and make a lot of money. You can also write blog post about topic you have been discussing with your friends and include their statemets in it. Your content will be better if you include more points of view.

3. Visit gallery or museum
Ideas are often hidden in art or history. Take your time and go to a museum or gallery and relax yourself. You may find the way how to revitalise ideas from stone age and use it on internet.

4. Classes
You should never stop educating yourself. Start visiting pottery class and you may find great niche in pottery business. Or any other class – they are all full of niches nobody has covered them yet.

5. Read
Go to library and read books. They are great inspiration. You can also read news on internet and discover what world aroud you needs. Go to your news stand and buy magazine about something you have never taught about. Like at classes, you can also find great niches in magazines, too.

6. Blogs
Read as many blogs as you can. People often complain about bad experiences and problems in their life. You can easily find ideas how to improve you business. For example – you run gym and you read blog where blogger complain about lack of information on gym websites. You can go and write guide how to start visitng the gym, add gallery on your website… and you may attract few customers which are scared to look stupid when they come to gym.

7. Comptetion
You should always know what your competitor do. For example – you run online store with baby equipment and your competitor advertise a lot on sports news site. They invest a lot of money in it which means it probably works – fathers always wants best for their children.

Social networking has impacted business in a major away, both online and offline. Savvy business owners and internet marketers are finding ways to piggyback off of the popularity of these sites to gain consumer confidence, build brand loyalty and make sales. While social networking provides outstanding opportunities, it is important that marketers not put all of there “eggs in one basket” and that they plan for the end. When the public fascination wanes, which it undoubtedly will, this will likely mean a sudden and dramatic drop in income for some individuals.

There will always be a newer, bigger and better website that people will eventually flock to. It is important to plan for this. While it is important to stay current, traditional marketing methods will still prevail. In this article, we will discuss some ways to safeguard your business and income from the inevitable Twitter bust.

a. Provide Lasting Value: If you want to benefit from your Twitter followers long after the website dips in popularity, make yourself invaluable. Consistently provide your Followers with solid information, tips, entertainment or whatever your specialty is. Doing this will significantly increase the likelihood that they will become long term fans or buyers of your products.

b. Collect Email Addresses: Always, always try to collect the email addresses of your
followers. Email marketing is one of the best ways to make a consistent income online. Use Twitter to develop credibility so that your email conversions are high. In order to get your followers’ email addresses, offer them something free. This might be a free e-book, discount on a product or simply quality information that they would be hard pressed to get anywhere else.

c. Promote Your Primary Website: It is important that you get the word out about your primary website. This is because if your followers stop visiting Twitter altogether or reduce their use of the social networking website, they still know where to find you and purchase your products.

d. Start A Traditional Blog: Because the internet is so fluid, social networking sites that might be popular today may not be tomorrow. However, people tend to bookmark their favorite traditional websites and blogs. Having a blog that you update regularly will tend to stay pretty popular amongst your fans as long as it gives them what they want and has free content, while a particular social networking site may not. A website is great for static information, though it may be updated occasionally. Therefore, having both a website and blog is ideal. If people no longer feel compelled to tweet, they can still get lots of fresh content from your blog.

e. Offer “Twitter Only” Specials: One way to encourage continued participation on Twitter by your followers is to offer specials that are only available on Twitter. Offer significant discounts and your followers will tend to stayed involved.

Greetings everyone. Today I’m interviewing Dean Hunt of DeanHunt.com. Dean is best known as a buzz marketing genius and blogger extraordinaire.

Hi Dean. First, thanks for doing this interview.

Q. A lot of people when at the age you started were still in school or trying to figure out what they’re going to be when they grow up. How did someone so young become so successful so quickly?

A. That is the cool thing about the Internet, it doesn’t discriminate based on age. So anyone at any age can do it. I was around 20 before I got into it properly… I was 22 before I was making a fulltime income, so like most overnight success stories, there is a lot of effort and time that goes into them.

Q. So, for those who don’t know— what exactly IS buzz marketing? Is it just the internet marketing equivalent of being a shock jock?

A. Shock is just one small aspect of it… basically, it is doing something that gets people’s attention. The easiest way to do this is to make them feel an emotion… so, it may be inspiration, funny, shock, sadness, joy, hope etc…

I actually call it “outrageous marketing”.

I tend to use humour a lot.

When you grab attention, people talk about it, and that is when your message goes viral.

Q. Is there a limit to the boundaries you can push with buzz marketing? Is there anything you WON’T say?

A. I write as though I am my audience… if I find it funny, I publish, if I don’t find it offensive, I publish… etc…

My boundaries are more liberal than some people’s, but you can NEVER please everyone, and if you try, you will become very generic and dull.

Remember, it is better that 50% of people hate you and 50% love you, than 100% think you are ok.

Q. I recently saw a video you had published on your Facebook page where you referred to yourself as someone who has, at times, given up too early on sites? What’s one site you wish you had stuck with?

A. It is more of a case of giving up on ideas… my first ever big idea was to have a cup of coffee with 1000 strangers… I called the site “Fancy a Brew?” brew meaning tea or hot beverage in the UK.

It got a lot of attention, but I gave up after just 2 drinks… the ideas and potential excite me a LOT more than the details and the journey of actually doing it.

Q. Speaking of social networking, do you think it’s possible for business owners to have a real internet presence without it?

A. Yes, but social networking is a good option for people without a budget.

For example, if you have a team of 10 staff and a 6-figure marketing budget, do you NEED social networking? NO, but regardless, I think it helps… it is the grease that makes things happen faster.

My golden rule though, is that some people just don’t get it, or are not the right personality types to enjoy and excel in the social game… if that is you, do not fight it, focus on your strengths.

For everyone else, focus on the big 4: LinkedIN, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube

Q. Is there any ONE thing that everyone trying to increase the amount of money they’re generating online should be doing?

A. Testing. Success online can be summarized by the following: test things to see if they make you money, if they don’t, then tweak or stop doing them, if they do, do more of it.

Q. What is one thing you’ve had to change radically about how you view marketing over the years and what is one thing you think will always remain constant?

A. Consumers are more aware than ever before… they know about sales pages, they know about testimonials, one time offers etc… so you have to be more authentic.

The constant is that people who can get attention and stand out from the crowd will be successful. That is why buzz marketing will always be around.

Q. Tell us about your affiliation with ConstructZero (www.constructzero.org). What’s this I hear about your life being sponsored?

A. My life was sponsored by ConstructZero.org for $1 million, most of which I will be giving to charity. It means I will wear their URL and logo on an item of clothing, at events, on video, in photos etc…

It leverages my personal brand.

They are doing some really exciting and potentially world changing things at Www.ConstructZero.org, so I recommend you go check them out.

Q. What does a website have to do to earn a “doesn’t suck” button (http://deanhunt.com/your-website-sucks/) from Dean Hunt?

It has to not suck

Just email me your website url with the subject line “does my website suck?” to contact@deanhunt.com and I will let you know.

Q. One last question— if you were to give up making money online tomorrow, what would you want to do instead?

A. Great question… I would probably consult with local, offline businesses. That or I would become a rockstar (I wish).

In reality I would probably just play Xbox360 all day, and keep posting at www.buzzprofits.com and www.deanhunt.com purely for fun.

The answer to the last question made me laugh because it’s exactly what what my wife and I are doing with our new business. Anyway, I really enjoyed interviewing Dean and I recommend you go check out his blog by clicking here.
